Beijing Titan Horizon Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our” or the “Company”) respects the privacy of its users (“you”) and has developed this Privacy Policy to demonstrate its commitment to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application rPlayer and any related services provided by us (collectively, our “Software” and “Services”), and describes the information we collect, how it may be used, with whom it may be shared, and your choices about such uses and disclosures. It does not apply to any third-party products, websites or services. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully before using our Software or Services. By using our Software and Services, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us through the email displayed below.

1. Information We Collect Automatically

(1) When you use network features of the Software and Services — for example, playing or downloading content from a URL, browsing a webpage within the Software, connecting to your own network storage (such as SMB, SFTP or WebDAV), or when the Software automatically contacts our servers to obtain operational configuration necessary for providing the Services (such as feature and purchase-related settings) — certain technical information may be processed automatically in the course of establishing the connection, including the type, name and version of your operating system, the version of the Software and Services, Internet protocol (IP) address, and the time of the request. Such information is used solely to establish and maintain the connection you request, to provide, maintain and secure the Services (including preventing fraud, abuse and attacks), and is not used to identify who you are or to track you across other apps or websites. We do not collect your location, Advertising Identifier, Media Access Control (MAC) address or Apple ID.

(2) We may use the App Store APIs provided by Apple to verify information about your subscription orders, such as purchase items, transaction identifiers, subscription status, subscription time and expiration. We do not collect and we are not responsible for the collection or security of payment details. Payment information is processed and stored using third-party companies (such as Apple). These companies can be contacted through their websites: https://www.apple.com. Before entering your personal payment details, we suggest that you read and become familiar with the privacy policy of these third-party companies.

2. Information You Provide to Us

(1) Photos and Videos. In order to play media files stored on your device, you may voluntarily grant us the permission to access your photo library. Only if you confirm the permission will we gain access to your photo library, and only to list the videos stored on your device and play the ones you select. Such media files are processed locally on your device and will neither be stored on our servers nor shared with any third parties.

(2) Face ID. The Software supports unlocking with Face ID. Biometric authentication is performed entirely by iOS on your device; we can neither access nor store any biometric data.

(3) Local Network Devices. The Software supports playing media from devices on your local network (such as SMB, SFTP or WebDAV storage). Only when you choose to scan for or connect to such devices will the Software request the local network permission to discover devices on your network. Information about the devices discovered (such as device names and addresses) is processed locally on your device only and will neither be stored on our servers nor shared with any third parties.

(4) Support Related Information. If you communicate with us via our support section or via email, we may also collect your email address, name and any information you voluntarily submitted to us in connection with such support (for example, your company name, and particular support query or request). Such information will only be used to provide you with support services and will not be combined with any other information collected from you on or through the Software.

(5) Feedback Submission. If you use the in-app feedback feature to report a problem, we collect the feedback content and contact information you voluntarily provide, the screenshots you choose to attach, and the device information necessary for locating and resolving the issue (device model, operating system version, app version, system language and region). Such information is used solely to receive and handle your feedback and to improve our products and services, and for no other purposes. Attaching screenshots and providing contact information are optional and will not affect your ability to submit feedback.

We will not save or collect any information you provide other than as described in this Policy.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act). Other than as described in this Policy (for example, Apple, which processes payment and subscription verification when you make a purchase), we do not currently engage third-party service providers to process personal information on our behalf; if that changes in the future, we will update this Policy and will require such providers to process personal information only in compliance with applicable data protection laws and this Privacy Policy.

We will not share any personal information that we have collected from you except for the following events:

(1) If we are required by law to disclose your information, we may share your information with law enforcement or other competent authorities and any third party, as may be required (e.g., to detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues; to respond to claims or satisfy any legal process, subpoena, or governmental request; or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our users, its partners, or the general public);

(2) In the event we go through a business transition such as a merger or acquisition by another company, consolidation, change of control, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information will be among the assets transferred, and it will remain subject to this Privacy Policy (as amended by the acquirer) or to prior notice of changes;

5. Third Party Websites or Apps

There are a number of places in our Services where you may access third-party websites, apps or content that are not operated by us. Such third-party websites or apps may independently solicit and collect information, including personal information, from you. We are not responsible for the information contained and/or made available through, the practices of, or your use or inability to use such third-party websites or apps. You expressly relieve us from any and all liability arising from your use of such third-party websites or apps. We recommend that you consult the privacy statements of all third-party websites or apps you visit.

6. Transfer of Data outside Your Territory

Our Software and the Services are offered worldwide and work over the Internet. As a result, your information (for example, your IP address in the connection records described in Section 1) may be transferred to, stored and processed in countries other than your own, including countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or other jurisdictions with restrictions on such transfers, we will rely on appropriate safeguards permitted by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses or other recognized transfer mechanisms, or on exemptions applicable to the specific transfer. Subject to applicable law, you may contact us through the email displayed below to obtain further information about the safeguards we apply.

7. How we protect your personal information

We take security measures including administrative, technical, and physical measures to safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access and disclosure. However, no system can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take steps to secure your information, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information will always remain secure.

8. Data Retention

Most of the information described in this Policy is kept on your device (for example, your media files, play histories, favorites and settings) and remains under your control; uninstalling the Software or clearing its data will delete such information from your device. Information that may reach our servers (such as the technical records described in Section 1) and support communications will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy, having regard to the following criteria: (1) how long the information is needed to provide and secure the Services; (2) the type of information collected; and (3) whether we are subject to a legal, contractual or similar obligation to retain the information (e.g., mandatory data retention laws, government orders to preserve data relevant to an investigation, or data that must be retained for the purposes of litigation or disputes).

9. Our Policy Regarding Children

Our Services offered by us are not intended for children under 13 or other statutory minimum age according to the applicable laws and regulations in your country (the “Minimum Age”). If you are under the Minimum Age, you should not use our Services, please do not send any information about yourself to us. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the Minimum Age, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under the Minimum Age, please contact us through the email displayed below.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act):

In addition, because the Software processes almost all data locally on your device, you can exercise control directly on your device: deleting the Software or its in-app data will remove the corresponding information from your device.

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us through the email displayed below. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request, and we may decline requests in the circumstances permitted by applicable law. We will respond to your request within the time frame required by applicable law.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We will update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. For material changes, we may also provide notice within the Software.
